Privacy policy for meTime
The summary
meTime has no accounts and no servers of our own. Your timers, events, counters and settings are stored on your device and are never sent to us.
We do not track you. The app has no analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking, and no profiling of any kind.
This website counts visits anonymously, on our own server, without cookies. See This website below.
We never see your payment details. Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple.
Who is responsible
meTime is made by Extent OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia under registry code 16081472, at Kamara tee 3-1, Kamara, 69304, Mulgi vald, Viljandimaa, Estonia.
For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Extent OÜ is the data controller for the limited processing described below. You can reach us at info@extent.ee.
What stays on your device
Everything you create in meTime is stored locally on your iPhone using the operating system's own storage. It is not uploaded to us, and we have no way to read it. This includes:
- Timers, interval and workout configurations, and their labels
- Stopwatch and lap times
- Counter values
- Since & To events and their dates
- Your preferences — theme, accent colour, sounds, haptics
- The date you first opened the app, used to run the introductory access period
If you delete meTime, this data is removed with it, apart from the first-launch date, which iOS keeps in the device keychain so that reinstalling the app does not restart the introductory access period. You can remove it by resetting your device's keychain.
We do not offer any cloud sync or backup. If your device is backed up to iCloud, your meTime data may be included in that backup, which is governed by Apple's privacy policy rather than ours.
Subscriptions and payments
meTime offers optional paid subscriptions and a one-time purchase. All payments are processed by Apple. We never receive or store your card details, billing address, or Apple Account credentials.
To know whether your subscription is active, we use RevenueCat, a subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly generated identifier and the purchase receipt issued by Apple. This identifier is not linked to your name, email address, or Apple Account, and we do not combine it with anything else.
RevenueCat acts as our data processor. Their privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymised sales and download reports. These contain no information that identifies an individual.
Alerts and reminders
If you allow notifications, meTime schedules them locally on your device so it can tell you when a timer finishes or an event is due. Nothing is sent through a server, ours or anyone else's, and we receive no information about whether a notification was delivered or opened.
You can withdraw permission at any time in iOS Settings.
This website
To see whether people find meTime, extent.ee counts visits to its pages on our own server (hosted by Virtuaal.com OÜ in Estonia). No cookies are set and no third-party analytics service is used.
For each visit we record the page, the site or campaign that linked to it, the type of device and browser, the browser's language and time zone, the screen size, how long the page stayed open, how far it was scrolled, and whether the App Store link was tapped.
Your IP address is not stored. To count how many different people visit each day, it is combined with your browser's description and a key that changes every day into a short code that cannot be turned back into the address; the next day the code is different, so visits on different days cannot be linked.
This data is kept for 13 months and then deleted. It is never sold or shared. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how people find meTime (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time by writing to info@extent.ee.
What we deliberately do not do
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to create.
- No analytics. We do not measure how you use the app.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No tracking across apps or websites, and no data sold or shared with data brokers.
- No location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data. meTime does not request access to any of them.
- No crash or performance reporting beyond what Apple provides anonymously to all developers.
Legal basis and your rights
Why we may process data
Where we process the limited purchase information described above, we do so on the basis of performance of a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) — it is what lets us give you access to the features you paid for. Where you have granted notification permission, that processing rests on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.
How long we keep it
Data on your device stays until you delete it or remove the app. Purchase records held by RevenueCat are retained for as long as needed to support your subscription and to meet accounting obligations under Estonian law.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, most of these rights are exercised simply by deleting the app. For anything else, write to info@extent.ee and we will respond within one month.
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) or to the supervisory authority in your own country.
Younger users
meTime is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone. The app requires no account and asks for no personal information, so no age verification is necessary to use it safely.
Updates to this policy
If we change how meTime handles data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on the App Store.
